Zero Press Release - February 04, 2008
This week
GAR-BRO Manufacturing Company of Heber Springs, Arkansas shipped
two concrete buckets to be used for the placing of concrete at
the new Freedom Tower located at 1 World Trade Center, New York
City, New York.
"GAR-BRO
equipment was used extensively in the construction of both of
the original World Trade Center towers and GAR-BRO is honored
to be able to contribute to the rebuilding at the Ground Zero
site in New York City", said Dave Gehle, President of GAR-BRO.
David Jackson,
Vice-President, noted that "each one of our 29 craftsman
are proud to be a part of this project".
Each bucket
weighs 4,000 lbs when empty and is capable of placing 6 cubic
yards concrete for a total loaded weight of 28,000 lbs. 6 cubic
yards of concrete in each bucket can be discharged in 10 seconds
in unrestricted placing locations. Many times the bucket operator
must control the discharge of the concrete from the buckets into
the forms so the time to empty the bucket would be longer in these
situations.
GAR-BRO Manufacturing
Company began in 1923 with the original offices and manufacturing
plant located in Los Angeles, California. Beginning as a distributor
of construction equipment, GAR-BRO eventually evolved into a full-time
manufacturer of concrete placing equipment. In 1978 GAR-BRO broke
ground for a new facility for all design and manufacturing and
was the first industry to locate in Heber Springs Industrial Park.
2008 marks the 30th year that GAR-BRO has been manufacturing construction
equipment in Heber Springs.
The GAR-BRO
product line covers a wide range of equipment, light as well as
heavy, for many different types of concrete placement applications.
GAR-BRO Concrete Buckets are specifically designed for mass placement
of concrete in large civil projects such as hydroelectric projects
and power houses have been used the world over and have become
the standard by which all others are measured.
